Refresh began in Sept 2002 in Wills St Bendigo, first as Refresh Body Therapies and progressing to the well-known Refresh Day Spa you see today.
We (Simon and Tracy) met at Hepburn Springs Spa Resort and after a year of working together decided to go into business, get married and start a family. All at once.
In the beginning we concentrated on the massage side of the business but, after realising no one else in Bendigo was doing spa treatments, soon incorporated day spa and beauty therapy treatments, focusing on the pampering side (with a little waxing). As time has gone by, we have moved with the industry trends and now offer medispa treatments.
In March 2010, we purchased and renovated 90 Garsed St, Bendigo and have been here ever since. The beautiful old building offers 6 treatment rooms (2 with dual beds), spray tan room and an Infrared Sauna so we have lots of flexibility to tailor and provide maximum availability for our clients.
The Remedial side of our business is still going strong, as we are lucky enough to have some very talented therapists working with us, therapists who are dedicated to improving any muscular condition and working with referrals to other Health professionals where necessary to see the best outcomes for our clients. Now Refresh is launching Refresh Remedial Clinic which has come about due to the popularity and success of the remedial side of the business.

I am from Taiwan and living in Australia for 4 years. I appreciate having this chance to work at Refresh with lovely space, clean equipment, ethical duties, and friendly staff.
After a few years of work experience in massage, I still love this carer and enjoy helping people. Health is the most important thing in our life. Massage not only helps physical issues but also mental stress. I like to massage professionally and effectively, so I decided to study remedial massage to get more knowledge, techniques and skills.
As a massage therapist, I must look after myself first then provide good treatments for clients. In my free time, I like to work out to keep my body fit. I enjoy cooking, food, hot baths, and music to release stress. I try new things to work my brain's function. I am satisfied with helping people.

I am from Malaysia and have been living in Australia 4 years. I am believing in God in my life. I feel very honoured to join Refresh Spa to be one of them. I believe it’s God blessing to be able to be here and to give good Remedial Massage.
Remedial Massage’s focus is for the body’s muscles and to help chronic physical pain. It will relieve the physical muscle pain. Useful for presentation and restoration purposes, Remedial Massage can Improve fluid flow throughout the body, removing waste products such as Lactic and Uric acid and encouraging blood flow to damaged areas in need of remedying.
Restoration, loosen tight muscles or remedy injury -it’s the ideal massage type for anybody involved.
I update my Remedial Massage skills to provide and focus on the physical body. I study to identify the muscles and use the good skills I have been taught to benefit my clients.

Simon moved to Australia in 2014 after working previously in his native England, in Yorkshire and in London. He qualified as a massage therapist in the UK in 1999 and obtained a diploma in reflexology in the UK in 2000. To make sure his qualifications were up-to-date and up to Australian standards, Simon passed his Cert IV in Therapeutic Massage at TAFE NSW in 2016 and obtained his Diploma in Remedial Massage in 2017.
He began his massage career after receiving massage treatments himself when suffering severe back pain in the mid-1990s, and decided he’d like to give others the same beneficial results he felt from receiving massage for his lower back. He hasn’t looked back ever since.
"Even after nearly 20 years massaging, I still get excited seeing improvements in clients’ ability to get on with their lives, and the job never gets boring as every individual always brings in something new, with a life story or injury that differs from others I have seen before"
In his spare time, Simon sings in a choral society in Melbourne, he volunteers at a soccer club in Ballarat, and he writes a blog about historical buildings around Victoria.

I am a passionate local, born and raised right here in Bendigo. I absolutely love this city and I am excited to raise my family here. Several years ago I decided to do a course that introduced me to massage. I fell in love with it instantly and knew I wanted to make a career of it. Completing my Diploma of Remedial Massage was a proud moment for me.
Whilst studying for my Diploma, I worked at Cherish Thy. I got to get in lots of practice and also learned a lot about floatation and the benefits of self care. Completing my Diploma of Remedial Massage was a proud moment for me and I continued to work with Cherish Thy as a masseuse.
After my first child was born, I took some time away to focus on being the best mother I could. Now that she is a bit older, I am very excited to be back doing what I am passionate about. I find it very rewarding to be able to help others deal with any muscular pain and to help them alleviate the stresses of day to day life.
